CAPABILITIES
Industrial Design
User-centric design at the heart of every product.
FORM MEETS FUNCTION
Designed to feel just right.
Products succeed or fail on how well they fit into someone’s life, often in ways that aren’t obvious from the initial brief.
Uncovering those unarticulated needs, and addressing them through user-centric industrial design, is where genuine competitive advantage gets built.
Our industrial designers start by understanding how your product will be used, and the habits, expectations and frustrations of the people holding it. We’ll shape its form, proportion and finish around that understanding, then test those decisions against ergonomics, brand and cost as the design develops.
We consider manufacturing throughout, too, so you get a product that feels right in its users’ hands and can be made, within budget, at the volumes your business needs.
ONE TEAM, ONE PRODUCT
Good product design is about engineering, too.
Industrial design at SDW never happens in isolation. Our designers sit alongside electronics and UX specialists and mechanical engineers from the first sketch, so a striking concept doesn’t get re-engineered out of existence.
This keeps our design decisions honest. It means the manufacturing constraints get resolved at the concept stage, not after tooling or investment is committed, and usability gets shaped by how people will interact with the product.
All the material and finish choices are made with sustainability, durability and brand consistency in mind, so your product looks right on day one and still looks right after years of daily use.
Work with us
Why SDW?
Commercial focus
A product only succeeds if it can be built at the right cost, sold at the right price, and supported profitably after launch. We test every design decision against that commercial reality, alongside its technical merit.
Strategic thinking
We look past the immediate brief to the decision behind it, and challenge assumptions when the evidence points elsewhere. Checking feasibility early ensures the strategy never outruns what can realistically be achieved.
Creative problem-solving
The most obvious solution isn’t always the right one. We bring lateral thinking and structured experimentation to problems with no obvious precedent, testing unconventional approaches against real constraints before committing.
Multi-disciplinary team
Our mechanical, electronic and software engineers work alongside industrial designers and UX specialists on the same programme. It means problems get solved once, from every angle, rather than passed between teams and revisited later.
