QUALITY MANAGEMENT

ISO 9001

Independently audited processes, so quality and consistency are built into every project.

Our approach

Quality assured, from first enquiry to final handover.

ISO 9001 is the world’s most recognised quality management standard, and SDW holds full certification against it. Our processes for managing your project, from initial scoping through to final handover, are independently audited and verified twice a year by external assessors.

For you, this translates into predictable delivery, clear requirements captured at the outset, defined stages for every project and structured document control throughout. When something needs to change mid-programme, we follow a defined process for managing scope, so changes stay tracked and agreed as they happen. Working with a certified consultancy means working with a team that has built its reliability into a system, and keeps proving it, year after year.

QUALITY BUILT-IN

Why ISO certification matters.

ISO certification provides proof from a third party that an organisation complies with one of the internationally recognised ISO Standards.

Each standard focuses on a specific area of business performance, with ISO 9001 relating to quality management. It’s developed and published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a non-governmental organisation made up of national standards bodies.

Through its members, ISO brings together experts to share knowledge and develop standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges. In short, think of an ISO standard as a formula that describes the best way of doing something.

FOR PEACE OF MIND

What is ISO 9001 Quality Management?

ISO 9001 is the world’s most recognised quality management standard. It ensures accredited organisations meet their customers’ needs and expectations, while delivering a consistent level of quality and satisfaction. It’s built on seven quality management principles:

  • Customer focus
  • Evidence-based decision making
  • Relationship management
  • Process approach
  • Improvement
  • Leadership
  • Engagement of people

A HOST OF BENEFITS

What a certified product design consultancy means for you.

By having the ISO 9001 accreditation, you can be safe in the knowledge that we put our clients at the heart of everything we do. Achieving this standard adds value to our creative process so that we can continue to deliver consistently high-quality projects. Here are some examples of how we do this:

Our onboarding process captures customer requirements that are cascaded to the right people. Any changes follow a process to avoid misunderstandings and ensure no time or effort is wasted.
We define process stages that are customised for your project.
We have processes, templates and document version control in place to speed up our operational process.
We have tools and analytical reports to monitor and highlight when things go well, and not so well. Any improvements are cascaded, reviewed and implemented back into the whole team, so we continually improve our efficiency and effectiveness.
We focus on communication for complete transparency, and so that our team knows what’s expected of them.
We outline our capabilities and match them with functional responsibilities. This ensures that the right people are in the right job.

We’ve built our ISO 9001 system around our aspirations, operations, culture and customer base. However, it’s easy to adapt when things inevitably change.

Our ISO 9001 certification is proof that we provide a consistent and reliable product design and development service, and that we continually strive to improve our service by proactively seeking stakeholder feedback, and identifying and responding to issues promptly.

We audit our processes internally as well as externally by ISO consultants, ISO Quality Services Limited, who visit us twice a year. As part of the certification process, we have an annual re-certification audit to ensure we’re compliant.
